It started with a racquet
As a college tennis player studying engineering, Stephen Davis became fascinated by the potential of composite materials to change sporting goods. One of the first carbon fiber racquets he played with convinced him that composites represented the future.
That interest became a career objective: learn everything he could about composite materials and ultimately design tennis racquets.
From player to inventor
The objective was unusually specific: become a tennis racquet designer.
That path led from composite materials research into sporting goods product development, where engineering became a tool for solving performance problems — not simply creating technology.
Over the years, that approach expanded beyond racquets into skis, hockey sticks, baseball bats, lacrosse sticks, archery equipment and other sporting goods categories.
